Spring Break

It's Spring Break, and we're back. The kids enjoyed their week off from school. They feel a little jipped, since all their friends went to fun places and we just stuck around the house. We did, however, manage to get outside and do a few things.

Of course, it managed to snow on one of the days of Spring Break. Yuck. It then warmed up later in the week to salvage it a little bit. I (Pat) was scheduled to fly to Chicago for three days, but it was cancelled at the last minute because the person I was scheduled to meet with had a baby. I always get a lot more finished when I stick around the office.

Karli and the kids watched Nim's Island. It was a good movie and almost worth the price of a matinee. The kids managed to enjoy it, though.

We finally decided to take the plunge and buy a yearlong Thanksgiving point pass. This gets our family into the Dinosaur Museum, The Barn, and the Gardens for a year as many times as we want. What does this mean for you? Well, if you don't mind us tagging along with you, we get you in for half price to any of those venues. Which, can really add up considering that admission is $10 for adults and $8 for kids. So, give us a call! We'd love to hang out with you.

We wasted no time in using our pass. Karli took the kids to the Dinosaur Museum on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Grandma Craner hosted the first annual Camp CRAHADAPO at her place. It started with a 2-hour hike, included lots of arts and crafts, hot dog and marshmallow roasts and ended with a freezing campout in real tents! Katelyn and Kristen slept fine. Dallin said he froze to death.

Poor Dallin got home from Grandma's campout and went straight to his Troop's campout in American Fork Canyon. He looked very tired, but was excited to be the Senior Patrol Leader during the campout. An added plus was that he got sleep inside a cabin.

On Friday Night we enjoyed the second leg of Natasha and Gretchen Hubner's visit to us. The had to endure the grueling 9-hour drive from Phoenix to Lehi, then were great sports as they watched The Office with us. Pat went to bed, then I stayed up with the girls and watched American Idol.

On Saturday (today) we loaded everyone up and went to TP's Tulip Festival at the garden. Because the winter has been so long, there weren't too many tulips to go around, but we were able to find a lot of flowers nonetheless. Tasha, Gretchen and the kids were great sports, allowing Pat to snap photos of just about everything and anything.

The Gardens are simply amazing. They are so well cared for, you don't see a weed anywhere and there is lots of grass and hills to play on. We had a great time lazily walking around, catching up with Hubner girls and rolling down the hills.

We had to take off after a dust storm blew in, so we drove to another park in Lehi and had a fun picnic. Then it was home for naps and Wii.

Today was a big moment in Katelyn's life. She had her first solo babysitting gig for the Enger family. Three kids, one of which was a baby. They also have a little girl that looks like Kendra Thueson. Katelyn got $20 bucks for 3 hours. Not a bad hourly rate!
